  • It’s been almost a year since my very first blog post; about the movies from the summer of 2018. The summer of 2019 is even better! Let’s take a look at a list of the new movies releasing this summer.

Toy Story 4 (26th of June)

Nine years after Toy Story 3, Pixar is finally ready to show us Toy Story 4. Woody and the gang are still there, but there’s a new toy who joins the gang! His name is Forky and (surprise) he’s a fork. The entire gang makes a road trip alongside old and new friends. This makes them realize how big the world can be for a toy.

I have something to admit. I had never seen Toy Story until two months ago. I’m hoping to get the chance to see Toy Story 2 and 3 before I’ll watch this one. It’s definitely something I’d like to see!

    Yesterday (28th of June)

What if The Beatles had never existed? What if you’re the only one to know The Beatles? To know their music? Obviously, you pretend it to be your own music! That’s what struggling musician Jack Maliek does anyway, which makes him go on talk shows and as a supporting act for Ed Sheeran.

The Beatles might be one of my favorite old school bands. I was born way too late to get into the hype, but since a year or two, I love listening to their music. Ever since the first trailer came out, I have been excited about this one!

Spider-Man: Far from Home (2nd of July)

Spider-Man is back! During the summerbreak, Peter Parker and his friends go on holiday to Europe. Peter doesn’t take his suit with him, he just wants to be Peter Parker. But when in Venice… hell breaks loose. Spider-Man has to stop evil once again.

We have seen Tom Holland as Spider-Man a couple of times before, but he has only had one movie for himself; until now! I’m looking forward to this sequel, as Spider-Man might be my favorite Marvel character.

The Lion King (17th of July)

JAAAAA IT’S INGONYAMA BAGHITI BABAAA Oh don’t mind me, I was just singing my favorite soundtrack of all time!

I wasn’t born when the original Lion King came out, yet I’ve seen it a dozen times. It’s time for a remake! We’ll see the life of little Simba once again, yet this time as ‘real’ animals. James Earl Jones back as Mufasa, Donald Glover as Simba and Beyoncé as Nala. I’m curious to see if it will be any good. Pharell has produced five new tracks for the soundtrack and Elton John made a new song. Let’s go to the cinema on the 17th of July!

Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood (26th of July)

It’s 1969 and actor Rick Dalton and his friend/stunt double Cliff Booth strive to achieve fame and fortune in the film industry. Meanwhile, the city of Los Angeles is shocked by the murders of Charles Manson.

Leonardo DiCaprio ánd Brad Pitt in a movie together? Hell yes! This movie premiered in Cannes Film Festival and got great reviews. Tarantino’s ninth movie, of the ten he is said to make… It’s probably amazing.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (1st of August)

Hobbs and Shaw, which we have seen in the past Fast & Furious movies, are back! This time, they’ll work together to fight against a new (cyber-genetically enhanced) villain who threatens the future of humanity.

I have seen all of the Fast & Furious movies but I really don’t like the fact that they keep making more and more of them. A franchise of eight movies, one spin-off and a ninth movie in the making?! It’s too much. Yet the past eight movies did really good in the box office, so let’s see how this one will be.

Are there any movies I have missed on this list? What summer release are you waiting for? Leave it in the comments below!

I’ve been trying to see them all, it’s been on my to-watch list for a long time! I actually have seen Toy Story 3 when it came out, without seeing part one and two. Toy Story 1 impressed me though!

Omg – you’ve never seen the Toy Story movies?! They are SO good. And so far ahead of their times in terms of the quality of the animation.
I’m looking forward to ALL of these movies – it’s going to be a great summer 🙂
