  • This year has been pretty huge for me. I finished my first year in higher education, I got my propedeuse (got all of my EC’s in the first year), went a few days to Paris, a few days to Bologna and a week to the Veluwe. And I started this – my blog. The year is almost over, which means I have to recap. Not only my personal year, but also on the theme of movies.

    Personal
Last December, I had Mandibular Osteotomy, a surgery where my lower jaw was placed forward. Throughout the whole month of January, I couldn’t chew. The whole surgery was a pretty big deal last year but I’m very glad that I’m fully recovered! My braces went off in July, so my teeth are more beautiful than they have ever been!

Furthermore, I’m very glad that I achieved the best result regarding my study: I got my propedeuse in the first year, more than half of the students don’t. Only 3 more successful years in study to go!

I also had a great time with my friends. We went to Paris, we ate together, we partied together, we drank together – we studied together. I’m so grateful for all the friends I have!

    Blog
In a few days, my blog will be online for six months! I never could have imagined I would still be blogging by now. Even though not very much people are reading my blogs, I enjoy writing them.

I wrote a total of 26 blog posts, I have a total of 286 views on those. I have a total of 1045 pageviews. All of those people came from 15 different counties. I’m really hoping that my views will increase, that more people will be reading my blog posts. I won’t give up!

    Movies in general
Since July, I watched at least 83 movies. Some months I watched only 9, some months I watched almost 20 movies. The months where I didn’t watch a lot, school had me going. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the number of movies, but I’m always looking for more movies to watch. If you have any recommendations: Let me know!

2018 has been a great year for movies. We had Avengers: Infinity War, Black Panther, Love, Simon, A Star is Born, Mission Impossible: Fallout, Incredibles 2, Ralph Breaks the Internet, Crazy Rich Asians, Deadpool 2, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, Ready Player One and much more. If you take a look at this small list, you will probably notice that there are a lot of remakes or sequels. Not much originals. The sequels that we got, were great though. I’m hoping there will be me

If I have to make a list of the movies in 2018 that I personally enjoyed the most, this is it:

To All the Boy’s I’ve Loved before
    Love, Simon
    A Star is Born
Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!
    The Kissing Booth

The absolute worst movie of 2018 was probably A Wrinkle in Time. It was so bad, it wasn’t even released in the cinema in The Netherlands. I’m hearing really bad things about Holmes & Watson too, though. I haven’t seen it yet, so I can’t judge.

The Academy Awards will be held in February 2019. I think Black Panther will do good. Emily Blunt might be nominated for best actress in Mary Poppins Returns. My personal favorite and which I guess will be the absolute winner, is A Star is Born. I can’t wait to see Gaga win an Oscar 😉

What are your favorite movies of 2018? What are you hoping to see in 2019? Leave it in the comments below!
