  • It’s been a week since the D23 expo was held. A weekend filled with amazing Disney news, mostly regarding the upcoming streaming platform Disney+. I followed all the news that was announced regarding the platform and am excited about a LOT of the news. It started with Disney+ being released in my home country (The Netherlands) on the first release date (November 12th) but it ended with much more than that. I’ve made a list of the things I’m most excited about.

High School Musical: The Musical: The Series

I love the OG DCOM movies from 2005-2010. Movies like Camp Rock, Princess Protection Program and yes – High School Musical. I had been very nervous about what it would be like and the D23 expo brought us a trailer! Still a bit nervous but definitely excited, I watched it. I was actually positively surprised! It looks like they went with a more mature audience instead of the young target audience from the original movies. We actually (almost) got a cursing word! (The *bleep* can be heard at 0:54) I guess the series will be my new guilty pleasure!

Premieres at November 12th, only on Disney+. New episode every week.

    One day at Disney

Disney with a look behind the scenes isn’t normal. Most of the things behind the scenes are secretive but it seems like Disney went another way! The short documentary series will give an insight look at 52 people that work at Disney. From Pixar to Disneyworld Tokyo and from animators to The Lion King musical. This series will take us on a trip around the world to give us a unique insight look. Along with the series, a book of the same name will be released on the same date.

Premieres December 3rd, only on Disney+. New episode every week. One episode will take between four and seven minutes.

    Lizzie McGuire

I didn’t see this coming and I guess nobody did. It has been 15 years since we last saw Lizzie McGuire and her own cartoon self in the Disney Channel series. There is not much known about the reboot, except that Hillary Duff will reprise her role as Lizzie while living in New York.

No release date has been announced yet.

    Lizzie McGuire

    Phineas and Ferb movie

Phineas and Ferb is one of the few children series that I still fully enjoy now that I’m 20. The series had four seasons and ended in 2015. The movie is called Phineas and Ferb The Movie: Candace Against the Universe and most of the original voice actors will reprise their roles.

Premieres somewhere in 2020, only on Disney+.

    Noelle

CHRISTMAS MOVIE ALERT! I absolutely love Christmas with all the cheesy movies, songs and ‘gezelligheid’. This movie starring Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader is about Santa’s family. When Santa’s son disappears, it’s up to his daughter, Noelle, to find him before Christmas arrives. The first trailer arrived at D23 and it looks really Christmas-sy!

Premieres November 12th, only on Disney+.

I will definitely get Disney+ on November 12th, directly at the start. Expect a new blog post about it shortly after 😉 See all known releases here. Are you getting a subscription on Disney+? Leave it in the comments below!
