  • Book vs movie: All the Bright Places
  • Some of you might ship characters, some of you might have a (secret) crush on a character and some of you absolutely despite some characters. There’s a lot going on, characterwise. I too, of course, have some favorite characters. I have made a list (not in a particular order) of my favorite characters.

Marius Pontmercy – Les Misérables (Eddie Redmayne)

Les Misérables is one of my favorite movies and Eddie Redmayne is (BY FAR) my favorite actor. So it shouldn’t be a surprise he is included in this list.

The way Marius is determined to be with the girl he’s only seen once, is truly impressive. Marius might not be a leading actor, but he sure is important to the story. I love his determination and his love for Cosette.

Sophie Sheridan – Mamma Mia (Amanda Seyfried)

Jumping from Les Misérable to another actor which appeared in Les Misérable to this entirely different movie.

Sophie is that kind of person I can only dream of becoming. Just following the adventure, see whatever life brings her and totally impulsive. I think way too much before deciding something and I want adventure but to be honest, I’m not totally committing to this. GO SOPHIE!

Gabriella Montez – High School Musical (Vanessa Hudgens)

Gabriella was (and secretly still is) my childhood hero. She’s exceptionally smart, she can sing, everybody (except for Sharpay of course) seems to like her. I always wanted to be Gabriella when I grew up.

Spiderman – Spiderman: Homecoming and Avengersmovies (Tom Holland)

It might be because of my celeb crush Tom Holland, but I only really like the newest Spiderman. I have the feeling that the newer Spiderman movies are funnier and I love the friendship between Tony and Spidey.

Forrest Gump – Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks)

Forrest Gump is my spirit animal. He’s not smart at all, but at the same time incredibly smart. He just does what he wants to do, lets nobody tell him what to do. He cares a lot about other people. This is not only one of my favorite movies, but also one of my favorite characters ánd one of my favorite actors.

William Thacker – Notting Hill (Hugh Grant)

And yet another one of my favorite movies. Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts in Notting Hill are goals. Normal British guy William meets incredibly famous woman Anna Scott, yet normal British guy William stays normal British guy. I don’t think the casting could’ve been any better, Hugh Grant is the best actor for this role.

Prime Minister David – Love Actually (Hugh Grant)

I guess Hugh Grant may also be one of my favorite actors. Love Actually is filled with great characters, but Prime Minister David really stands out. He does whatever he wants to do, tells people exactly what he wants to and, just like William Thackers, stays normal. (I hope everybody remembers the icon dancing scene depicted below. Just one example of a lot)

Tony Lip – Green Book (Viggo Mortensen)

I just recently watched Green Book, and was surprised by the comedy in it. All this comedy was made by Tony Lip. He loved eating (as do I), he was filled with dry humor and he didn’t adjust one bit to Dr. Shirley. The fact that this person was a real person, makes it even more incredible.

Truman Burbank – The Truman Show (Jim Carrey)

The Truman Show was a movie that truly impressed me. Not only was it filled with lots of truth, but Truman was incredibly interesting – to say the least. He found out the truth in a smart way. All those years was he kind to everyone, only to found out that all the people were, in fact, fake. He handled the entire situation in the movie great.

Louisa Clark – Me Before You (Emilia Clarke)

Louisa Clark is brave. There’s no other word to describe her. She doesn’t give up, not on her work but also not on Will. When Louisa comes into Will’s life, Will’s life changes completely. She respects him and his choices, but also tries to make his life a little better. She’s always happy, always kind and cares a lot about Will and other people. I admire her.

Samwise Gamgee – The Lord of the Rings (Sean Astin)

Samwise is my brother’s favorite character of The Lord of the Rings. He made sure that Sam would be my favorite character too. Gandalf gives him a pretty normal job – To take care of Frodo. He always puts Frodo first, makes sure his life continues. He is the absolute most loyal person in the entire The Lord of the Rings franchise (and maybe even beyond).

It was really, really hard choosing people for this list. I can imagine I’ve forgotten a lot of them, so there might be a part two in the future. For now: This list is complete. What do you think of my list? What are your favorite characters? Leave it in the comments below!
